Vermont State Police Traffic Fatalities Heat Map

Map

This heat map contains information related to fatal traffic crashes reported by the Vermont State Police (VSP) between January 1, 2010 and the prior month to date. These data are extracted from the Vermont Agency of Transportation’s electronic crash reporting system on a monthly basis. This particular dataset is made available in an effort to highlight the dangerous nature of Vermont highways, and that nearly half of all traffic fatalities since 2010 were unbuckled.

State Vendor Payments

Database

Lists all State of Vermont payments to vendors by Fiscal Year. The data may be sorted by expense account, business unit and fund. The state spends money for many reasons, including state employee salaries and benefits, agency and department operating costs, contracts for commodities and services, grants to providers and community partners, direct program beneficiaries, capital improvements, transportation infrastructure, education, teachers’ retirement, environmental protection and debt service, to name just a few. The payments shown here are exclusive of direct payments to state employees for salaries, benefits, and, prior to May 2013, employee reimbursable expenses. The payments are also exclusive of any payments deemed confidential by state and/or federal statutes and rules, or the confidential nature of the recipients of certain payments, like direct program benefit payments. (Approximately 1% of all non-employee payments are excluded under these guidelines.)

Town Payments

Database

Lists payments made by the state to Vermont municipalities or municipal entities, such as school districts, fire districts, etc. Town payments are made through the VISION statewide financial system.

State Employee Salaries

Database

State employee salary data sortable by fiscal year, last name, salary range, total pay, department, or job title. State employee salaries shown for the current fiscal year are annualized calculations based on one pay period from August of the current fiscal year. State employee salaries for prior fiscal years show the actual income paid. State employee salary payments are made through the Vermont Human Resources payroll module. Vermont Crash Data, 2012

Database

Maps all traffic accidents recorded in 2012, so visitors can see at a glance where highway safety concerns may be an issue. Of particular interest to Regional Planning Commissions, towns, and highway safety professionals. The source for the data is VTrans Highway Research Section. This data set maps all traffic accidents recorded in 2012.
